An uncomplicated card does not mean that it doesn’t have lovely design elements. The card designer, Nancy Elrick, shows us in her card how to combine separate techniques and whip up a terrific card.
This quote from William Hogarth, The Analysis of Beauty, sums up why cardmakers shy away from clean-and-simple cards:
Simplicity, without variety, is wholly insipid.
Simplicity is not bland if you incorporate an assortment of elements. As you see in her card, Nancy combined elements made on a desktop cutting machine with traditional cardmaking skills (masking and blending). Visit Nancy’s post here to get more details.
