Hyacinth blooming is a sign that spring is around the corner. Hyacinths produce showy flowers in shades of blue, purple, white, pink, and red. They produce spikes filled with small, deeply fragrant, bell-shaped blooms. Ummm…I can smell their sweet fragrance.
German card designer, Sidan, created a tribute to this spring flower in her brithday card design. Visit her blog post here to get details on her card.
What I like about this card is how she framed her floral images with a stencil background and thin frames. I have bookmarked this design for future inspiration. Her color palette is soft. I think she used Stampin’ Up!® inks Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia and Pear Pizzazz or Old Olive. Although I don’t use purple often, I think this spring color combo could make an appearance in one of my upcoming designs.
Have you started thinking about your spring cards yet? Some of us in the USA, just weathered Winter Storm Landon last week. We’re still experiencing low temperatures in the 20’s — that’s frigid for us Central Texans. Thankfully, Landon was mild in comparison to 2021’s Uri. Well, I say “mild” — Landon was fierce to other states.
Whether there’s frost outside or not, we can start sending spring messages of hope and love. I’ll have to send a friend a hyacinth bouquet to say “hello”.
